Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide hails Appeal Court for Nnamdi Kanu’s discharge, urges FG to obey court judgment

The Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide Worldwide an Igbo Youth organization known for promoting National unity and peace, also the assemblage of Igbo youth in various clans and communities in Igbo land has commended the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

The Court of Appeal on Thursday, declared the rendition of Kanu from Kenya as illegal, thus, discharged and acquitted the IPOB Leader. The court also discharged and acquitted him of terrorism charges.

Kanu is being prosecuted by the Federal Government at the Federal High Court in Abuja for 15 count charges bordering, including treasonable felony and terrorism, offences alleged by the federal government.

In press release signed by the President general and secretary, Comrade Casmir Irekamba and Mazi Leo Chidi Chielo respectively. The leadership of Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide described the order of the court as a process of rule of law and justice delivery in a democratic system. They described the Judiciary as the hope of the common man.

IYA Worldwide asked the federal government and relevant authorities to “quickly obey the judgment of the appellate court.”

IYA Worldwide described the judgement as a welcome development saying it has triggered jubilation galore across Igbo land, Nigeria and beyond.

The Igbo Youth Assembly Worldwide said “ the public is very happy with this judgement because the Monday sit-at-home enforcement that has crippled South-East economy will come to an end.

“With this appellate court order, we are confident that Igbo land will witness a peaceful atmosphere. There is currently wild jubilation in several towns in South eastern zone of Nigeria over news of the acquittal of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu of terrorism charges.

As we applauds the judiciary for the judgement expressing trust and hope that the image of Nigeria will be improved by this judgement.
