Ibori is the god of Delta State – James Manager fires back at critics over ‘kneeling picture’

Senator representing Delta South Senatorial zone, James Manager has replied internet trolls who criticized him for kneeling down before ex-convict and former governor of Delta State, James Ibori.

A picture had gone viral on social media during the week showing the senator on his two knees allegedly pleading with Ibori to offer him the 2023 governorship ticket of Delta State.

Responding to the viral picture, James Manager told his supporters that Ibori was more of a political god in Delta State and therefore he has no problem kneeling down before his god to seek political position.

He insists that other politicians in Delta State including the incumbent governor were also in the habit of bowing and kneeling before Ibori.

“Ibori is an elder to me and in Urhobo culture, you can’t pay homage to an influential elder standing up. I came with drinks to pay respect to my godfather. It is the right thing to do.” He said.

He concluded by saying that there was nothing wrong in honouring your godfather in politics since Ibori remains a heavy weight in Delta State politics.

Manager is serving as senator for the fifth time in Delta State.
