Dalyce Curry, a retired actress renowned for her roles in “The Blue Brothers” and “The 10 Commandments”, has tragically passed away in the Los Angeles wildfires.
“About an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE,” Curry’s great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, wrote on Facebook on Sunday, January 12.
“We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”
According to Kelley, she had dropped Curry, lovingly called “Momma D,” at her home late Tuesday night.
By Wednesday morning, Kelley returned to check on her, only to be stopped at a barricade where the police confirmed her grandmother’s house had burned down.
Desperately searching for her grandmother, Kelley visited the Pasadena Civic Center, where displaced residents were gathered, but her efforts were in vain.
“She was very active,” Curry’s granddaughter Loree Beamer-Wilkinson told ABC7. “You would not think she was 95.”
As of Sunday, January 12, at least 24 people have been reported dead due to the wildfires.
