Hackers have reportedly infiltrated the account of Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and stolen about N180 million.

Otse, who runs a popular non-governmental organization, revealed the breach on Friday via his Instagram account, confirming that a suspect had already been apprehended in connection with the crime.

According to Otse, the hacked account has been placed on PND (Payment Network Disconnection), and while N160 million was diverted to an undisclosed account, the balance of N20 million remains within the compromised account.

This security breach comes shortly after Otse launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, which raised over N35 million in donations within hours.

Not long after, he received a generous N100 million contribution from renowned music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy.

Otse said, “Alright. So I’m at the airport, I’ll be honest with you guys. For the past few days, I’ve not been myself. I am here with Officer Joe, and we are going to Jos.

“The NGO money, somebody hacked into the NGO website, and I don’t know how they did it. And N180 million naira is missing. So but we have, thank God we have tracked the person and we are on our way to Jos.

“And then, they’ve arrested one person, so that’s why I’m even saying it now. I am excited. And an account has been pulled on PND.

“So the account now has N20 million, N160 million has been diverted to another account. So we are currently going there to see how we’ll get the money back.”

“I just want to update you people, I have even asked to shut down the app and put it on maintenance so that people will not really see what is going on, but let me just come out plain and tell everybody that this is what is going on. But hopefully we get the money back, so I’m on my way to Jos,” Otse added.
