The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a N100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state.

The approval, which was granted on Monday, was announced in a statement signed by the State’s Head of Service, George Nwaeke, on Tuesday.

Dr. Nwaeke noted that the gesture aims to ensure that both workers and senior citizens enjoy a fulfilling Christmas celebration.

Meanwhile, this marks the second year in a row that Fubara’s administration has approved a N100,000 bonus for civil servants, an amount surpassing the national minimum wage.

It is also the first time that pensioners will benefit from the festive bonus.

In his Christmas message, Governor Fubara called on the people of Rivers State to embrace peace, unity, and love during the festive season and beyond.

The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, stated the importance of peaceful coexistence, especially in tackling the country’s ongoing economic and security challenges.

He reassured residents that the coming year holds the promise of new opportunities and lasting fulfillment.
