Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appoints singer KWAM 1’s daughter as SSA on Tourism

Basirat Damilola Marshall, daughter of the famous Fuji artist King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, also known as KWAM1, has been appointed by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism.

A viral video of KWAM1 expressing his gratitude to the governor and congratulatory messages on her Instagram page, @damimarshall_, revealed the appointment.

In the video, KWAM1 thanked Sanwo-Olu during a performance at the coronation and birthday event of Oba Sikirullah Apena and acknowledged his daughter’s request to appreciate the governor for her appointment.

Congratulatory messages poured in for Damilola’s appointment. Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu commended her hard work and contributions, saying, “Congratulations on your appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism.” Damilola expressed her gratitude with a simple “Thank you, sir.”

Another individual, Balogun Basia, celebrated the appointment, wishing Damilola success and prosperity in her new role as the SSA to the governor of Lagos State on Tourism.

Prior to this role, Damilola served as a principal partner at the law firm Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co.

Efforts to reach the Special Adviser of Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, for confirmation were unsuccessful as messages sent to his WhatsApp line remained unanswered.
