Four popular gospel ministers, and 20 others lost their lives in a fatal motor accident along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in a statement issued on Monday by the Ogun State Sector Commander and Public Information Officer, Florence Okupe confirmed the incident.
The deceased were identified as Evangelist Ayodeji David (Kekere Jesu), Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina.
According to the FRSC, the crash occurred when the vehicle conveying the gospel ministers collided with another, resulting in a high-impact accident that claimed all four lives instantly.
The accident reportedly involved multiple vehicles and claimed over 24 lives in total.
At the moment investigations indicate that overspeeding and poor visibility were contributing factors to the tragic incident.
Evangelist Kekere Jesu was well known for his passionate preaching, dynamic street evangelism, and strong presence on social media, where he reached and inspired thousands.
Reacting to the tragedy, the founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain International Ministry, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook.
