The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) has felicitated Senator John Azuta Mbata on his election as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The forum recognizes Senator Mbata’s emergence as a crucial moment for the Igbo nation and expresses confidence in his ability to provide visionary and transformational leadership to the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization.

In a statement signed by its President, Dr Stephen Nwala, and Secretary General, Dr Uzor Ngoladi, FOSAD commended the democratic process that led to Senator Mbata’s election, describing it as a testament to the unity and collective will of the Igbo people.

His track record of service and commitment to the principles of equity, justice, and development makes him the right leader at this critical time,” the statement read.

FOSAD highlighted key areas where it believes Senator Mbata’s leadership will be impactful, including fostering unity among Igbos, advocating for the region’s political and economic interests, and addressing the challenges of insecurity and underdevelopment in the South-East.

The forum also pledged its support for the new President-General, noting that the academic community stands ready to collaborate with Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the pursuit of policies and initiatives that will uplift the Igbo nation.

“Under Senator Mbata’s leadership, we hope to see increased collaboration between Ohanaeze Ndigbo and intellectuals in the region, leveraging research and innovation to address societal challenges and advance the socio-economic progress of Ndigbo,” Professor Okonkwo added.

FOSAD called on all Igbos at home and in the diaspora to rally behind Senator Mbata and contribute their quota to the collective advancement of the Igbo agenda.
