Abisola Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, is dead. She died on Thursday morning in the United Kingdom after a protracted illness, reportedly cancer.
A source close to the family confirmed her demise to QED.ng, revealing that Mrs Kola-Daisi had been battling health issues for some time. She was 44 years old.
Her younger brother, Abolaji Ajimobi, hinted at the tragic loss by posting the Islamic phrase “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (“Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return”) on his Instagram story on Thursday.
Abisola was a special adviser to the minister of budget and planning, Atiku Bagudu, up until her death. A source who spoke to QED.ng on condition of anonymity said she had been absent from her duties for a while due to her illness.
Fondly known as Abi-KD, she got married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi in 2010, and the union produced three children. Friends and family are mourning her loss, with many offering support to her mother, Florence Ajimobi.
Mrs. Ajimobi has faced a series of personal tragedies in recent years. She lost her husband, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, to complications arising from COVID-19 in June 2020. In 2021, her mother, Victoria Amudoaghan, passed away, and in 2022, a sister living in Lebanon also died.
