Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, resigns

Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, announced his voluntary resignation on Monday.

Rasheed revealed this to our correspondent during a conversation and said he would be going back to the Bayero University in Kano to continue working as a lecturer.

According to The PUNCH, Rasheed was chosen to lead the NUC seven years ago, when Adamu Adamu was still the former minister of education.

When he served as executive secretary of the NUC, the commission authorized the most private universities.

The most industrial actions were also witnessed in the academic system.
