African Action Congress has asked the President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to resign over their alleged involvement in the death of protesters at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.

The party, founded by the Publisher at Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, asked the president and governor o ensure justice.

This was contained in separate statements by the Lagos State Chairman of the party, Kunle Ajayi, and the National Publicity Secretary, Femi Adeyeye, on Wednesday.

In a copy of the leaked report, Sanwo-Olu was alleged to have invited soldiers accused of killing the protesters to Lekki tollgate.

Ajayi said, in a statement titled ‘EndSARS panel report: Sanwo-Olu should resign if honourable!’, that the recommendations of the panel must be implemented.

The Lagos AAC chair said, “The panel report on the Lekki massacre has justified the radical youths and the revolutionary left over the fact that Nigeria needs a revolution at all levels of governance. It glowingly praised how organised and historic the EndSARS movement has been.

“We equally condemn all those who have been working as agents of government against justice especially those who have done everything to thwart the cause of justice. The world is now speedy in the search for a new life. Nigeria will never be left behind.”

Adeyeye said the party would continue to monitor and condemn “the state-sponsored violence against peaceful, unarmed but powerfully organized citizens”.

He said, “We as a party have continued to condemn the injustice and high-handedness of this regime as it continues to use excessive force on protesters but kid gloves on terrorists who have ravaged our entire space.

“The wicked decision of the Buhari regime which was hatched in Lagos, to halt a protest of armless citizens who have only stood against Police brutality, is a confirmation of its irresponsibility.

“The report has answered the derisive question that was posed at citizens by the Lagos Landlord, Tinubu and his gang- “where are the bodies?”.
