Emulate PDP by zoning Presidency to South, IPN urges APC

The Indigenous People of Nigeria, IPN, has called on the leadership of All Progressive Congress, APC, to zone its 2023 Presidential ticket to the Southern part of Nigeria.

The Convener of the group, Mazi Nnamdi Iroegbu, while reacting to the decision taken by the Zoning Committee of PDP to zone the party’s Chairmanship position to the North and Presidential ticket to the South, urged the ruling party to key into the sentiment of Nigerians by doing likewise.

The statement reads;

“We wholeheartedly received the news coming from the Peoples Democratic Party on zoning its National Chairmanship seat to the North and Presidential ticket to the South for the 2023 election.

We are grateful that the main opposition party adhered to the demands of popular opinion by adopting rotational Presidency in 2023.

While we Congratulate the PDP members and Nigerians in general, we call on the leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to tow same path by presenting a Southern Candidate for the seat of the President in 2023.

This will douse any unnecessary tensions and foster unity amongst Nigerians.

It has always been our earnest but patriotic position that power should rotate to the South after the eight year double tenures of incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari.

We believe that 2023 shall go down as historic for the country if the right thing is done with respect to the office of the President.

Signed
Mazi Nnamdi Iroegbu
