Sadiq sentenced the driver without an option of fine, saying that he had committed such an offence several times.

According to the judge, the sentence will serve as a deterrent to others.

The prosecutor, Mrs C. C.  Okafor, earlier told the court that the driver, on Dec. 30, 2023, stole a motorcycle belonging to one Mr Dauda Emmanuel.

According to Okafor, the motorcycle was parked at the corridor of Emmanuel’s apartment in Wanu Village, Kabusa, before the driver stole it.

The prosecutor  said that stealing contravened  Section 287 of  the Penal Code.
