A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has remanded a 29-year-old woman, Idris Mariam, for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy (name withheld) in the Muslim High School Area of Ago-Iwoye.
The suspect was arraigned by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ogun State Command.

The spokesman of the command, Dyke Ogbonnaya, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, said Mariam had unlawful s3xual intercourse with the minor eight times in her room since December 23, 2024.
According to the statement, the incident was reported to the command by the survivor’s mother.
He stated that the defendant, charged under Section 32 of the Child Rights Law of Ogun State, Nigeria 2006, was remanded at the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Ijebu-Ode, for 60 days.
“The survivor, in the course of investigation, opened up that the defendant has been having these s3xual assaults with him since December 23, 2024, for successive eight times,” the statement read.
“After the completion of investigation, a motion for ex parte to remand the defendant at the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Ijebu-Ode, for 60 days was filed by the legal team of the State Command at Ago-Iwoye Magisterial Court.”
The spokesperson noted that the prayer of the Corps to remand the defendant was granted by the court under His Worship O.F Adeduntan (Mrs).

The statement added that a duplicate case file has been forwarded to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ogun State Ministry of Justice, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, for legal advice.
The Corps State Commandant, Remilekun Ekundayo, has issued a warning against indecent behaviour and all forms of inhumane treatment, adding that such will not be tolerated in the state.
