Court remands man for allegedly defiling 14-year-old girl

A Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, on Tuesday, ordered that a 32-year-old man, Frank Nnamonu be remanded in a correctional centre, for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl.

The police charged the defendant, whose address was not given, with one count of defilement.

Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya adjourned the case until October 20, for hearing.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Ikem Uko, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 2, at about 7. 20p.m at Ilogbo area of Lagos.

Uko said that the parents of the girl reported the case at the police station.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
