A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday nullified all the primary elections conducted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The pronouncement by the court followed a suit filed by some aggrieved APC members.

The suits were said to have been filed by members of the APC loyal to the state governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Senator Magnus Abe.

According to the plaintiffs, some bonafide delegates were prevented from voting in the party’s primary elections in the state.

A business mogul, Tonye Cole, emerged as the winner of the party’s governorship primary election in the state.

Cole was said to be the preferred candidate of the former Minister of Transportation and leader of the APC in Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi.

Cole defeated five other aspirants to emerge as the winner of the election with 986 votes.

His closest rival, Ojukaye Flag Amachree, a former state chairman of the APC, polled 190 votes to come second, while Sokonte Davies came third with 46 votes.

Senator Magnus Abe, who did not take part in the primaries, however, scored 1 vote.
