Unknown assailants have k!lled a couple in Angwan Kari community in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to Vanguard, the armed men k!lled Mr Williams Wasiu Jimoh and r3ped his wife, Banke, to d3ath.
Th assailants broke into their residence and carried out the horrific act in the early hours of Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Pastor Lee Ngbede, Keffi Zonal Coordinator of the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS), who confirmed the incident described it as devastating.
“Brother and Sister Jimoh were committed members of the FCS here in Keffi. The situation surrounding their gruesome death remains a shock to the entire Christian body in Keffi and the state,” he said.
Pastor Ngbede explained that concern was first raised by Mrs. Jimoh’s father, who contacted a family friend after being unable to reach the couple. A visit to their home followed.
When a colleague of Mr. Jimoh arrived at the residence, he found the doors locked. But a glance through a back window revealed a disturbing sight—flies swarming and a foul stench, prompting an immediate call to the police.
On breaking in, officers found Mrs. Jimoh’s lifeless body on the bed, already decomposing. Her legs were spread, and her hands placed on her head—a position that raised fears of sexual assault.
Mr. Jimoh was found near the door, tied up and suffering multiple machete wounds to the head. Though barely alive, he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Keffi.
“The police said from all indications, the woman was raped to d3ath. After that, her neck was also slashed, and it was practically dangling,” an eyewitness claimed.
Some community members have linked the attack to suspected Fulani herders, referencing an alleged recent conflict involving the deceased woman and similar patterns in past violent incidents in the area.
Mrs. Jimoh was buried on Thursday, April 10, in a cloth wrapping due to the condition of her remains.
Mr. Jimoh, who never regained consciousness, succumbed to his injuries days later.
He was buried Wednesday, April 16.
