Amos Isah, the founder and lead pastor of Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, Abuja, has been arrested and detained by the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) over allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.
The arrest, which took place last week, has sent shockwaves through the community, as Pastor Isah was known for his charismatic sermons and claims of divine power.
His church, located behind Noble Noel Academy, opposite the Gwagwalada Market in Abuja, has been a centre of worship for many residents.
A review of his Facebook page by SaharaReporters shows that Isah frequently posts messages on holiness and moral uprightness.
Checks by SaharaReporters revealed that the last service conducted by the cleric at his church took place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
On his Facebook page, Pastor Isah’s intro is that the “purposes of this page is (sic) to touch lives as the Holy spirit leads because God has given me power.”
On June 15, Father’s Day, he posted on Facebook, “Dear God, thank you for the gift of fatherhood. We pray for all fathers and those hoping to become fathers. May You give them the strength to be a vessel of Your love. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY.”
In a post on June 11, he said, “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1, NASB). We need the Holy Spirit’s help any time we stand up for Jesus; it is His strength that we must lean on. We need His boldness and courage to be light in a dark world if we are to be a mouthpiece for Him.”
However, authorities exclusively told SaharaReporters that he abused his spiritual influence to exploit a minor.
Sources within the FCID confirm that the victim, a 14-year-old girl, was allegedly sexually assaulted by Isah, leading to his arrest.
Attempts to reach the cleric for comment were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls to his mobile phone.
Meanwhile, SaharaReporters gathered that some police officers have allegedly been working behind the scenes to shield the pastor and prevent his name from being made public.
Investigators are reportedly handling the case with a level of secrecy due to the sensitive nature of the allegations and the suspect’s standing as a religious leader.
