Imo State govt should come to my rescue, Actor Clems Ohameze cries out after #EndSARS attack in Uyo

One month after actor Clem Ohameze was attacked by rampaging hoodlums during the #EndSARS protest in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, assistance is yet to come his way.

Clem who received severe machete cuts on his arms, robbed off the sum of N650,000, two boxes of costumes and handsets is yet to recover from the attack that occurred during a film shoot in Uyo. His automobile, an Escalade 2016 model was also vandalized.

The End time star said he had reached out to Imo State governor (his home state) through the Chief of Staff, Mr. Nnamdi Anyaehe who had ignored him and refused to liaise with his counterpart in Akwa Ibom State to offer him the necessary assistance.

Clem spent over a week in the hospital and had his medical bills of N250,000 settled by his pastor, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Mercy City Church Warri, Delta State.

Speaking to Daily Blast, the actor decried a situation whereby he was abandoned to his fate by the Imo State government that ought to come to his rescue as an ambassador of the state.

“What pride do I have as Imo state citizen. I am very angry with the government. I expected Imo State governor’s intervention. I am an ambassador of the state. Is this what I get? I feel so abandoned by my own people. Can you believe that the Actors Guild Nigeria have not said anything or issued a press statement since this violent attack happened to me? I have never seen a thing like this. I went for a movie job in Uyo, Akwa Ibom and was attacked by hoodlums and this is the way I am being treated by my home state government and colleagues in the industry.” Clem said in a telephone interview.
