President Tinubu accepts Ajuri Ngelale’s request for indefinite leave of absence

The Presidency has acknowledged Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson’s disclosure of taking an indefinite leave of absence due to personal and health-related reasons. 

Ngelale, who also serves as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, made this decision known through a memo addressed to the President.

In an official statement released on September 7, 2024, the President acknowledged receiving the memo and expressed full understanding and sympathy for Ngelale’s difficult decision. The President extended his prayers and best wishes for ‘’Ngelale’s speedy recovery and full restoration to health.”

The statement also praised Ngelale for his tireless efforts and dedication to national service, particularly in his roles in advancing climate action and other national initiatives. The President expressed gratitude for Ngelale’s contributions and wished him well in all his future endeavours.

The statement concluded by requesting respect for the privacy of Ngelale and his family during this period.
