A Nigerian clergy, Pastor Chibueze Okezie has gone spiritual to crash the exchange rate of Naira to Dollar.
The pastor was captured on Sunday in a viral video yelling and commanding the Dollar to crash while his congregants supported his prayers with a loud Amen.
During the prayer, the pastor fervently prayed against the fluctuation of the Dollar against the Naira, urging for stability in Nigeriaโs money while commanding the foreign currency to crash.
โI stand in my office as a prophet, right now one dollar is 1,800 naira or whatever; now hear me dollar, my name is Chibueze Okezie, I operate from heaven. Dollar hear my voice, youโll die in the name of Jesus Christ. The suffering is too much; I cannot be here as a prophet and my people will be suffering. Dollar crash, dollar fail,โ he prayed fervently while his congregation echoed โamen.โ
However, many netizens couldnโt overlook the fact that the current exchange rate is influenced by economic factors rather than spiritual intervention. Many suggest that government intervention would be necessary to regulate it instead.
Some critics also condemned the pastorโs congregants for their perceived naivety in agreeing with the prayer.
