The immediate past Commissioner for Information in Anambra State, Mr C.Don Adinuba has joined the league of literary icons as he was yesterday bestowed with the prestigious Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Fellowship Award. The event took place at the Mamman Vatsa Writers Village, Mpape, Abuja
Literary giants such as the founding president of the association, Professor Chinua Achebe, the Nobel Leaurate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Elechi Amadi, Kola Omotosho, etc, were previous award winners.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of ANA, Calistus Uka, explained that the award was in recognition of the sterling literary accomplishments of the awardees.
Responding after receiving the award, Adinuba paid glowing tribute to the exemplary role of writers in nation building.
He advised the leadership to sustain the lofty heights and enviable standards which the association’s founding fathers attained all through the years.
