Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency yesterday celebrated with the man of the people, the omoluabi of Ajegunle, the people’s mandate and choicest candidate for the House of Representatives, Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency; Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca as he dedicated his latest addition to his real estate, an edifice with modern structural and engineering touch.
A thanksgiving and dedication mass was held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ajegunle. The Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, friends, well wishers and Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituents turned out en masse at the church service which was officiated by the parish priest Rev. Fr. Jonathan Okafor and his assistants Rev. Fr Joseph and Rev. Fr. Gabriel.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church due to the new church building going on had held the mass at the Marian grotto. The parish priest had requested all those that pledged during the last harvest to redeem their pledge that if he could get them to raise the sum of two million naira from their pledge that he would ensure that the Christmas mass is held in the main church. However, he thanked Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca for redeeming his harvest donation.
After the thanksgiving procession, Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca addressing the congregation thanked God for his blessings upon his life and assured the parish priest that he would be back to celebrate the Christmas mass inside the main church auditorium and since he is looking for two million naira he would give the church the sum of four million naira to ensure that nothing stops the parish priest from achieving his goal.
He also called upon his best friend and business partner Chief JohnPaul popularly known as “Pope” who in his childhood days was an altar boy to address the Church. “JP-Pope” as he is fondly called supported his friend with the sum of Five hundred thousand naira. Both donors redeemed their donation right there in the Church before the close of mass to the delight of the congregation.
Rev. Fathers. Joseph and Gabriel proceeded to the building location to officiate the house opening after which there was music, laughter, merriment and enough to eat and drink.
Indeed, God has been magnanimous in the life of Hon. Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca as many wondered that amidst his political challenges with over four court cases before him since the primary election of the PDP for the House of Representatives ticket, he could still achieve this feat…but like he would always say “God 1st”, with God first, everything becomes simple and easy.
