Leading lawyers to reflect on the future of Nigeria’s justice system in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University

Nigeria’s justice system has witnessed its fair share of some of the instability that has faced Nigeria as a country over the years. In this sense, the administration of justice is challenged by inefficiencies that impact access to justice for litigants on one hand; and a crisis of governance involving the operators of the justice system, on the other.

To examine the issues responsible for this situation and articulate a potential panacea for addressing such issues, Marsfield LP, a full-service law firm in Nigeria, partners with the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at the Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto Canada to organize a roundtable to discuss the future of Nigeria’s justice system. 

The webinar tagged “The Future of Nigeria’s Justice System” will feature two back-to-back panel discussions, bringing together key stakeholders from Nigeria’s legal profession to explore the future of Nigeria’s justice system. Among the speakers confirmed for the event is Distinguished International Jurist and Former President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Hon. Dr. Chile Eboe-Osuji. Others are distinguished Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Chief Anthony Idigbe, Phd Chief Sebastine Hon, and Mazi Afam Osigwe, who was formerly, the General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Also lined up for this justice sector roundtable is the Country Director of Amnesty International Nigeria, Ms. Osai Ojigho In addition, Ms. Laura Alakija, Ms. Chioma Onyenucheya-Uko, and Dr. Sirajo Yakubu, all distinguished members of the legal community in Nigeria, will be speaking at the event. 

The panels will be moderated by Dr. Uche Ngwaba who is an Assistant Professor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law and the Managing Partner of Marsfield LP, and Leke Kehinde, a distinguished legal practitioner based in Abuja.
