U.S. President Donald Trump has given the World Health Organization’s leader, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, an ultimatum in a fresh letter.

Trump threatened to permanently halt funding for the WHO and withdraw the United States from the United Nations health agency if it does not make “substantive improvements” in the next 30 days.

Earlier on Monday he attacked the WHO as a “puppet of China”. The president froze US funding for the WHO in April.

In a letter to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus Monday, Trump also said he’ll reconsider the United States’ membership within the organization unless those improvements — which are strongly suggested to include loosening its ties with China — are made within 30 days.
