Olajide Sowore’s death: No Nigerian is safe under Buhari’s failed govt – Dickson Iroegbu

Convener of Indigenous People of Nigeria, Mazi Dickson Iroegbu has condemned the murder of Olajide Sowore, the younger brother of activist, Omoyele Sowore on Benin-Ore Expressway on Saturday by suspected terrorists.

Iroegbu made this known during a condolence visit to the Sowore’s in Abuja. He called for a thorough investigation into the death of the younger Sowore and also prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

He said:

“The Indigenous People of Nigeria condoles with Mr Omoyele Sowore, whose brother was killed by terrorists over the weekend.

We strongly condemn the act of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other heinous crimes irrespective of the nomenclature the government chooses to call them, that has continued to cut short the lives of Indigenous Nigerians.

While we condole with the Sowores, we strongly hope that this is not a setup. We equally hope that there is nothing fishy about the immediate and remote cause of the assassination.

We demand that the government at both the Federal and Edo state unravel this act of wickedness against the Sowores, and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

Sadly, this goes to show that no indigenous Nigerian is safe under this present Buhari led Federal government.

We pray that the soul of the victim of the deceased be reposed in the bosom of the Lord.”

It will recalled that Olajide Sowore, aged 48 was studying pharmacy at the Igbinedion University before he met his untimely death. He is survived by his wife, four children and numerous relatives.
