The lifeless body of a young woman who was discovered in the early hours of today in a gutter on Udok Street, off Barracks Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has been identified as Goodness Edem Israel, according to a police source.
However, the exact cause of her death is not known yet, as there were no visible signs of violence on her body, except for traces of foam coming from her nose raising questions about what might have led to her death.
Police Public Relations Officer for the Akwa Ibom State Command, DSP Timfon John, who confirmed the incident, said the victim’s identity was revealed through her National Identification Number found at the scene.
She added that investigations are ongoing, and the public will be updated as more information becomes available.
