The application, which was open to only registered orphanages in Nigeria, lasted for three days.

He said, “Verification is ongoing and the report will be out by December 15. Selection and disbursement 18th/19th and the press release should be by December 20.

“1234 responded; 852 without orphanage names; 382 with orphanage names.

“The national association of orphanages in Nigeria sent the list of orphanage homes within their coverage, which to some extent, is helping us in the verification process. God bless. We rise by lifting others.”

As part of his birthday celebration last month, the musician called on his friends to send money to him to mark the day.

Nigerians from far and near sent a total amount of N200million to Davido in response to his call.

The Hip-hop star went on to add N50million of his own money to the fund before donating the entire N250million to orphanages across Nigeria.

His kind gesture has been hailed around the world with other celebrities in Nigeria urged to emulate the young musician.
