The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and News Central Television are looking at forming a powerful alliance to set the stage for a transformative journey of economic prosperity. The partnership deal currently in the works was announced during a recent meeting, and this is seen as a testament to both organisations’ shared commitment to driving positive change in Nigeria. In attendance were the executive management team of News Central and the leadership of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.
While setting the tone for the meeting, the Managing Director of News Central Television, Kayode Akintemi articulated the significance of NESG’s contributions to advancing economic discourse and policies, stressing that collaborations like this can only engineer a progressive future for the Nigerian economy.
Mr Udeme Ufot (MFR), a Board member and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee for the National Economic Summit 30 (NES30) congratulated the News Central team for the feats recorded within the shortest time frame. He spoke highly of the creativity, pragmatism, freshness and factual content being consistently dished out to the public.
While eulogizing the potential partnership deal, Mr. Ufot emphasized NESG’s commitment to establishing a long-lasting relationship with News Central in ensuring economic issues and empirical solutions remain at the forefront of national discourse.
The CEO of NESG, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, provided a compelling historical overview of the organization’s journey, recounting the challenges faced by Nigeria’s economy in the past, including periods of recession and economic instability. He also affirmed the NESG’s unwavering commitment to evidence-based policy and advocacy which he believes would be instrumental in navigating Nigeria’s turbulent waters.
The partnership between NESG and News Central is a strategic move that recognizes the power of collaboration in driving economic growth.
Rising from the meeting, both organizations expressed their understanding of the crucial role the media plays in shaping public opinion and influencing policy decisions, believing that by working together, they can amplify their impact and accelerate Nigeria’s economic progress.
Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan, Director of the Commercial and Communications department at News Central, expressed the station’s anticipation for a continued partnership with NESG for the upcoming summit tagged NES #30, with the hope that the collaboration will foster a strong partnership along economic and broadcast lines.
The theme of this year’s NESG summit is “Collaborative Action for Growth, Competitiveness, and Stability,” and it promises to be a landmark event. The five sub-themes outlined for discussions at the summit are set to address the critical challenges facing Nigeria’s economy, which focus on fostering inclusive development and promoting stakeholder collaboration.
As Nigeria embarks on this new chapter, the proposed partnership between NESG and News Central is one believed to offer a beacon of hope. Both parties are optimistic about working together to ignite a spark that will propel the nation towards a brighter future, one characterized by economic prosperity, social justice, and sustainable development.
