A Nigerian man identified as Engr. Mohammed Amate, slumped and d!ed in while playing golf at the Zuma Golf Club, part of the Zuma Rock Resort located near Zuma Rock in Niger State, just outside Abuja on Monday, June 23.
According to sources in the golf club, the deceased, who is the former Pioneer Director-General of the Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office, collapsed on the 17th hole while playing. Other golfers tried to revive him, but he was confirmed dead at the scene.
Amate, a native of Kirawa in Borno state, has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
