Sule Lamido, a former Governor of Jigawa State and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has strongly criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC), likening it to a “cancer at stage 4 level” that needs to be removed from Nigeria’s political landscape.
Speaking on Arise News TV, Lamido expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the APC’s governance, particularly highlighting the party’s 10 years in office under late former President, Muhammadu Buhari.
“We must remove this cancer called APC, which we can call malaria, cancer level 4,” Lamido stated emphatically while appearing on Arise TV programme.
“APC is our problem. We must remove that corruption, which has become a cancer in Nigeria. And it has to be excised out,” he added.
He emphasised that the problem lies with the party itself rather than just the current leadership.
“If Tinubu is Buhari, they’re all APC. Never vote for them because it’s a failure of the party and party leaders of Nigeria. It’s not about Tinubu. It’s about APC,” he said.
Lamido’s comments reflect a broader discontent with the APC’s governance and call for a collective effort to address the perceived issues within the party.
His remarks have sparked discussions about the need for political accountability and reform in Nigeria.
The APC has not yet publicly responded to Lamido’s criticism.
However, his comments are likely to fuel ongoing debates about the party’s future and its impact on Nigeria’s political landscape.
