INTERNATIONAL YOUTH LEADERS LAUDS BUHARI, SUE FOR YOUTH INCLUSION IN GOVERNANCE

The World Assembly of Youth (WAY), Africa Regional Office, Abuja has commended President Muhammed Buhari for consistency in advocating a better deal for Nigerian Youths and indeed Youths of the World. From the floor of the United Nations General Assembly (2017); to the African Union Heads of State Summit (2018); and down to ECOWAS Sub-Region, Nigeria; President.

In an interactive Session with the Press and general Public, the Cice President for Africa, Comr. Preye J. Ketebu-Brown was quoted as saying “President Muhammadu Buhari never hesitates to champion youth inclusion in governance. The World Assembly of Youth (WAY) views President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent directive to his Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, for immediate engagement of Youth in governance through Board appointments at all levels, as a major milestone in Youth quest for Political Inclusion across the World. Such policy directive if adhered to stands the chance of rejigging governance in Nigeria through the injection of smart young minds into Boards and Agencies of Government.”

He further stated that the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) was most hopeful that President Muhammadu Buhari’s Policy Directive shall be adopted by Governors and LGA Chairmen, and that It was envisaged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration shall reverberate through the Political Landscape of Nigeria, while causing increase of Youth participation in the political process as Nigeria ventures into another season of robust political engineering towards the 2023 general elections.

The World Assembly of Youth (WAY) called on the Diplomatic Community and Development Partners to redouble their efforts and support for Youth Development in Nigeria.
