FOSAD mourns as Dr Nkeiruka Lemoha is laid to rest in Imo State

The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors (FOSAD) was thrown into mourning when a committed member of the organization, Dr Ositadinma Nkeiruka Lemoha passed away on 25th February, 2025.

Dr Lemoha, an erudite scholar, academic and lecturer at the English Department, University of Lagos was diagnosed with cancer of the womb and died within three months at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

She was buried on 29th March, 2025 at her hometown, Alaenyi Ogwa, Imo State.

Paying tribute during her interment, the President of FOSAD, Dr Stephen Nwala described Lemoha as “a shining light in the field of academia, a woman of immense intellect, unyielding dedication, and a passion for knowledge that inspired generations.”

“Her commitment to research, innovation, and the mentorship of young scholars set her apart as a beacon of excellence. She was not just a teacher; she was a builder of minds, a nurturer of dreams, and a symbol of resilience. Though she has departed, her works, her impact, and the countless lives she touched will continue to speak volumes.” Dr Nwala said in his tribute.

Also speaking at the event, the Coordinator of FOSAD in Imo State, Prof Lucy Apakama prayed for the repose of her soul and for her family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

Other attendees at the funeral include family members, friends, relatives, FOSAD members and colleagues from University of Lagos.

May soul rest in perfect peace.
