The Court of Appeal in the Lagos Division, on Wednesday, rejected the appeals filed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) and Olajide Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also known as Jandor, challenging the electoral victory of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State.

In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Yargata Nimpar, who presided over the three-man panel, the appeals were dismissed for lacking merit.

The court emphasized that the appellants failed to substantiate their allegations of forgery and non-qualification against Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

Justice Nimpar, reading the judgment on the PDP’s appeal, stated, “Even though they were all pre-election matters, the appellants (PDP and Adeniran) still failed to prove them.

“The appellants came empty-handed and left empty-handed. They merely enjoyed their day in court. Their petition is dismissed.”

The other justices on the panel were Justice Samuel Bola and Justice Paul Bassi.
