Court grants man divorce plea on grounds of wife’s saucy behaviour

An Area Court sitting in Ilorin, on Friday granted a man, AbdulRasheed Yusuf,  his prayer for divorce over his wife, Shakirat’s saucy attitude.

The presiding Judge, Ahmed AbdulKadir,  dissolved the 19-year-old union, after the two parties agreed that they were no more interested in the marriage.

”The parties are expected to live in peace and not in pieces,” the judge held.

He ordered Shakirat to observe the three months Iddah (waiting) period before she can remarry.

The judge  ordered Yusuf to provide all the necessary things for the children’s upkeep, to the best of his ability.

The petitioner had earlier told the court that his wife was abusive .

He said that he had tried many time to change her attitud but she did not change.

The respondent, who agreed to the divorce, replied that she was tired of the relationship. (NAN)
