Popular Nigerian cross-dresser, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, better known as Bobrisky, has raised the alarm on social media, claiming that he was arrested by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) officials.

In a post shared on his Instagram account on Tuesday, Bobrisky expressed confusion over the incident, stating that he was unaware of the reason for his arrest.

“Guys, have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don’t know what I do o,” Bobrisky wrote, sparking concerns and curiosity among his followers.

It is not yet clear whether the cross-dresser was arrested in Lagos or Abuja.

Bobrisky, a figure known for his flamboyant style and outspoken personality, has been a controversial name in Nigerian entertainment circles.

His public image has often been mired in controversies, with previous encounters with the law agencies.

Last year, he was similarly arrested by immigration officers, an incident that further highlighted the challenges he faces in navigating Nigeria’s conservative legal landscape.

On October 21, 2024, SaharaReporters reported that Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okunleye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was reportedly arrested while attempting to escape to the Benin Republic.

A source in the Immigration Service told SaharaReporters that Bobrisky was arrested by the agency at Seme-Nigerian border during passport check.

His arrest had occurred just hours before he was scheduled to attend a Senate panel of inquiry meeting regarding allegations against him.

Reports had indicated that Bobrisky was trying to evade questioning by the Senate.
