Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara State, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, has been kidnapped.
The emir was abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
The incident happened on Tuesday, competent source confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria.
It was gathered that the gunmen opened fire on his convoy and successfully demobilized some of the vehicles.
A police personnel was said to have been killed during exchange of fire with the bandits.
Alhaji Hassan Attahiru is a first class traditional ruler in Zamfara State.
