Suspected armed herdsmen have beheaded a farmer identified as Gabriel Vandefan in Ukpiam community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to a Facebook user, Mr. Ango Japhet T, the brutal attack occurred on Thursday afternoon, July 24, 2025 at Tse Aghem.
The victim had gone to inspect his farm in the company of a woman when they were ambushed by the assailants.
While the woman narrowly escaped with her life, Mr. Vandefan was not so fortunate, as he was reportedly slaughtered and decapitated on the spot.
The latest attack comes barely a week after armed herdsmen invaded the same community, firing sporadically and injuring several residents as they fled into the bush.
