Reports confirm that the Federal government have finally evacuated Igbos who were earlier left behind in Sudan. The South East Coalition had accused Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa of wickedness towards Igbos trading and schooling in Sudan.

One Mr. Chibuike Okafor in a viral video that trended on Twitter accused the Federal government ordering stranded Igbos in worn-torn Sudan out of evacuation buses.

The action was roundly condemned by tweeps who accused the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) of ethnic bigotry and discrimination.

According to PIDOMNIGERIA, a bus was sent to evacuate abandoned Igbos by 6am Nigerian time after the footage was condemned by well meaning Nigerians.

The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, stated earlier in a tweet that Nigerians in Sudan are being sorted according to their States Of Origin during the evacuation process.

She deleted the tweet after it garnered a backlash from concerned Nigerians who wanted to know the essence of the State Of Origin profiling in the evacuation process.

Meanwhile, The federal government says about 1,519 stranded Nigerians in Sudan are expected to leave Khartoum via hired buses to Port Sudan and other designated border points for their evacuation to Nigeria.
