22 injured as bus rams into Christmas procession in Gombe

A commercial bus rammed into a Christmas procession in Tumfure community, Gombe, on Christmas Day, injuring 22 people.

The Tumfure community celebrants were on their way to the Government House and Gombe Emir’s Palace for homage when the accident occurred.

Buhari Abdullahi, the spokesperson for Gombe State police, stated that the injured were taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital and Specialist Hospital.

No fatalities were recorded.

The police have launched an investigation.

The Commissioner of Police tasked the Motor Traffic Department to carry out a thorough probe.

 

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed sympathy to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the victims, pledging to cover medical expenses.
